Enoch's year end Outing to Mind's Cafe at Funan.. Though I only went towards the end, but the trip back is what's important, cause I witness God's miracle in my life!

Ok, and so it goes... On Sunday (20th), was the Enoch outing to Mind's Cafe at Funan. After the usual gang and P6s finish playing, all of them went back home, except Evangeline and me, who decided to go over to Suntec to do some Christmas present shopping.. I bought my stuff, and left her at 1915 as I have to get back home by 2030 (to pack my bag and stuff..) in order to book-in on time at 2200, and went to the bus stop outside the Convention Halls and waited for my bus, bus 70M.
Don't ask me why I know I'll need an hour, I think it's cause I'm accustomed to working at this speed I guess.

After waiting for 10mins, I was suddenly hit by a realisation that 70M only operates from 2000-End of bus service. But I was unsure at that point of time whether if the rule applies to weekend too, so instead of taking my chances, I went to the bus stop near the SB Building, which is along Nicole Highway. It took me another 10 mins to walk there. Time taken for the bus to come took yet another 10 mins, and I was panicky by then.. boarded the bus at 1945, means I'll be late by a good 15 mins at least. ):

When I board the bus, I was being welcomed by an uninviting smell, which almost made me barf on sight.. Someone puked on the sit just right behind the Driver! OMG!!! YUCK! With no seats, a tired me and a smelly bus ride, I started to complain to myself in my head.. Sigh.
*Army don't train you for this, lol.

However, here's when things change... A couple of stops down, some people kept trying to take the seat with the puke. I don't know why they do that. Maybe they couldn't see or they want to
be soaked in the puke?
Ewwwww, Gross.
Soon the Bus Captain (what a fancy title nowadays, even for bus drivers) kinda got frustrated, and halt the bus at the stop just before Paya Lebar MRT. My eyes grew wide at the moment, as he started to walk back and forth, taking out all the sign plates which indicates the Service Number of the bus. I was plugged into my mp3, so I couldn't hear the chatter that was going on in the bus, and what the Bus captian was telling the passengers.

My thoughts was like "Oh no! Please don't get us out of the bus and wait for the next bus 70M that comes along, I'm late!!!" Don't ask me why I didn't unplug to listen to the instruction, too lazy I guess..

Soon after, the Captian was done with his movement on the bus, and I realised what he was gonna do that instant. THIS BUS JUST BECAME AN EXPRESS BUS! (Alight only, no Boarding) :D
Woopie! It's as good as taking a taxi! (:
In the end, I managed to get back home at 2010, a good 25 mins ride from Suntec to Sengkang, 10 mins of buffer time for me to book-in!
And for this, I want to Thank God and praise Him for His Faithfulness even in such a situation.
Well, this may seem like some minor problem, and may even be coincidental event which had occured to many before, but it is to me something in which I can give thanks to God for.

Amen. (:

Realign, Respond, Reconstruct

Camp Theme Verses:
Your word is a lamp to my feet
and a light for my path
Psalm 119:105
You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden.
Matthew 5:14

For the many who didn't know about the Camp's theme verse, here it is...
I had also forgotten about it, and never notice that it wasn't on the camp booklet, haha..

Well, in summary - YPM CAMP '09: From The Inside Out - was GREAT!
It so Rocked my soul, my world.

IGNIS - Fire. o
Characteristics of Fire:
Uses of fire:
Requirements to sustain fire:

P.S. I really want to share this, but too bad such that I wasn't there on the first day of camp, and I forgot about it during the rest of the camp.. (I'm getting forgetful..) =x

Now, let's talk about my group.. :D

Neville, IGNIS' leader, is fantastic!!! *Claps Claps*
*I personally felt that he has done a good job. (:
*He shared many personal testimony during devotion and group time, which was very encouraging..
*He was able to lead the group to share, though the group was overly quiet.. (Xcept me that is, haha..)

Gladys, IGNIS' Assistant Leader, is of good help. *Claps Claps*
*Not bad, considering it's the first few times.
*Can improve more in the area of leading devotion/bible study/sharing
*Highly energetic and cheerful

Esther, IGNIS' youngest member, is very shy.. Didn't get to know her much..

Isaac has opened up slightly, and he actually shared some personal situations that he is facing during group time and devotion. Still gives a very reserved/mysterious feel.

Zhi-en... Answers only when promted to, tsk. Everything else just *Shrugs*. Tsk tsk.

Cheryl, IGNIS' "new face", from Riverlife Church. Didn't get to know her well.. But to me she seems pretty bubbly and cheerful. (:

Cherlyn, cheery person with lots of smile on her face whole day long! :D

Me. Just me.

That's all in my group. 8 in total. Small and cozy. (:

Games were fun!!! xD
Though I had missed day one games (which I heard it was pretty gruesome and dirty), I totally enjoyed myself on Day 2's game! Was a station master for Day 3's games though. But i'm happy that my group won at my station (not out of bias-ness hor!).

I shall elaborate on Day 2's games then... It was The Amazing Race, or so they call it. Thought that maybe a name like "The Great YPM Walk-a-ton" or " YPM RPG" would have sounded cooler, haha.
You guessed it. We walk... and Walk... AND WALK SOME MORE!
Total distance covered that day was like 8km, spreaded over 6.5hours?!
It's actually quite short la, as compared to the army's 24km. But it's cause we had to stop and do quests/solveproblems/facethechallenge etc. Took up pretty much amount of time.

First station was Stack! You know, the card pyramid thing?
My group chose to do 5 tier instead of 3, cause we too zai already! haha. No la, was just too lazy to do the hand/palm thingy.
We were able to pass this station and it was all thanks to Ze.
Serious.
He was the one who gave us the magical formula to solve the sliding problem which my group had been facing for like 20mins. It kept falling on tier 2, too slippery. None had any idea on how to play this game. We tried de-surfacing the card so as to make it rough; building it against a wall;
And the formula was to just simply fold the card into half...
That's it! So simple!
And guess where he got that idea from!! Amazingly, it was from the design (crafted lines) that was on the pillar of the building which we're at!

Alot of people got heat stress after the whole thing! Neh drink enough water, tsk.

Praise & Worship was good. I'm not saying this cause I'm the Camp Comm in charge of Music, but rather it's because I felt the presence of the Holy Spirit! Real Awesome...

Sermon was doublely better. Chien Chong is such a good speaker. Praise God for giving him such talent. The way he preach from the word, he made them come alive, and with so much applications, it's endless!

***Sermon notes to be added in later. For future reference, others to read.

Gah, To Be Continued...

I just so totally like being around my YPMs groupie on Sunday! (:
Even if it's just for a short time of prayer, really.
Lunch at Bak Kut Teh was nice too!
See that Boss has a new guitar, lol. Pretty cool looking ._.

Anyway..
Thanks for the nice Christmas gift Felicia! (:
I'm so gonna miss your presence, aww.
Take care and have a safe trip!
See you when the new year comes!

It's time to prepare for YPM Camp!!

Thursday, December 3, 2009

Whoa, today was a tiring day.
Kinda.
Now I'm pretty much tied down by YPM Camp, rostering of musicians and stuff.
Squeezing out as much time from camp to do the rostering and arrangements, but still it doesn't seems steady, not just yet anyway...

I took leave today to go for camp comm retreat! Yay.
Was all cheery and stuff initially, but soon I realized that I haven't plan for Daniel's Year End Event.
Sigh, another thing to plan for.
And the bus ride to there was super emo-ish.. dark clouds and rainy day.
Bumped into Angelina at East Shore Hospital bus stop, and exchange a small dialogue.
Then back to emo-ing.
Hope of kayaking was dashed, cause we don't have some One-star kayaking certificate, and now even the contingency plan is gone.. No more cycling.
Got caught in slight bit of rain. Hid under Old Republic Theater till the rain got lighter before heading toward church again.
Only Avelyn was there, so I went up to look for Doyle, to settle on the indented equipments for camp.
Moved out for lunch after every other comms were there, then came back to church to do preparations for camp instead of having fun.
Which turned out to be quite good.
Very fruitful too..

Saw how Doyle was teaching a new bunch of kids learning the drum.. how nostalgia.
Spent some time there with him, and imparted some, or really little, of whatever knowledge I have to them.
One of them played pretty much like how I used to played when I first started learning, haha.
I managed to get Jerome an ADVANCE Christmas Present. (:

Haha. I'm happy that you're glad.
Then I tried to help out with the camp preparation, though I was more of an eye-power-er earlier.
Finally, I Tape-up boxes and fold plastics for cutting. Lol.
After that, we went for dinner at an atas place, by Aunty Evelyn. Buffet style.
I would really like to thank Aunty Evelyn, and praise God for her grace! xD
Avelyn & Yiwen ate so many prawns la! Drunken Prawns some more. Like 50?! OMgosh.
Aftermath: Everyone was bloated, haha.
So we did a little walking down Orchard Road toward Somerset MRT station to aid digestion.

On the way back, my PS called me and sounded drunk & pissed.
I think it's 'cause I requested for stayout, which already touched on his raw nerves, and also ONE IMPORTANT THING WHICH I had completely, totally forgotten.. call back to Coy Office to let the CDS know of the change in book-in timing. Shucks, so dead la.
Thank God for His abounding grace and mercy.
Nothing bad happened.

Later then, I got home, showered and continued on with work.
Typed and sent mails for the camp, and delegating work.
Planned for Daniel's outing, and got Ning to take over.
Yay, total relieve-ness.

Following that I got bad news, or is it good?
Depends.
DISCLAIMER: DO NOT READ
***REMOVED***
Sigh.. and so, thus this post.
This is beyond me, it's time to pray.

God.
